Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

We are so excited to see what this new year brings for you our customers and us as a business!

I want to start off by saying just a little more about us. I began teaching middle school mathematics in the fall of 2014 and my husband started his medical school journey in February of 2015. I loved working with my students and helping them gain their confidence and understanding in the field of mathematics.

While my husband was away, he attended school in Antigua (the Caribbean 🏝) my school families were my life. I immersed myself in my students and coaching basketball, dance, and the high school cross country teams. While he was finishing up his clinical rotations and was almost home for good, we welcomed our first little man into the world. The next year Covid hit.

I’ve always enjoyed crafting and making things for people, as my husband always kidded I would keep everything to make something with it. We discussed how I could put this to more of. A business use and at the time I always cycled back to screen printing. However, there were already some good business local that I loved and didn’t want to compete with. The thought of taking my art to a business went to the back of our minds.

We were overjoyed to welcome another little man into our lives, but the thought of teaching while my boys were with someone else was not so heartwarming. I decided to no longer teach and stay home with my babies while they were still babes. I did tutoring on the side, and still do some, to continue my passion of helping others in mathematics. However, what I could do other than being mom was not known yet.

When my husband started residency, we deconstructed a house next to ours and started to rebuild. This was quite a journey! We did everything ourselves with the guidance of a good friend of his until we got to the finish work inside and the plumbing/electrical/hvac. We passed those over to the professionals. As we were finishing this up my husband came across glowforge. We thought hmmm could we do something with this concept as my hustle. He researched for a year and when we sold the house we built, we made the purchase on our FSL Muse Titan.

HERE WE ARE! This is a never ending learning journey. We currently are not sure what our primary focus is but until then we want to learn and explore all that we can do. We hope to take your dreams and make them into product that you cherish and love. When I say we…it’s really just me, BUT the we comes from my husband helping me get started and my family always supporting. There is no Aperio by samantha without my village.
